yeah personally i always just play with the guys, but i thought it was important for the game to be as inclusive as possible! after all for how many games i've played where i thought "man i wish i could romance the guy," how hypocritical would it be to have a game with no female characters 😀

The passwords are compatible! When Grovyle asks you about your name and gender during the intro, you can tell them you've met before. They'll ask for your password and it will have all of your progress.

This only occurs when starting a new game! So if you already talked to Grovyle, you can start a new game through the settings menu.
